Our health can be looked at like a three legged stool. One leg is our genetic makeup, the second leg is our lifestyle and the third is our diet. We cannot change the genes we were given, but we certainly can control our diet and lifestyle.
As a Nutritional Therapist practicing functional nutrition, my approach involves three important tenets:
No diet, no tricks. Just simple, delicious, whole foods – fruits, vegetables, pasture raised animals, and “good for you” fats. I believe in the Paleo/Primal way of eating and have seen tremendous success with myself and my clients.
It’s really not about a new diet; it’s about a new lifestyle – and that includes your spiritual, mental and emotional health. It’s important to learn how to handle your stress, your relationships, and your career in a way that keeps you healthy and happy.
It’s a beautiful world we live in, but there are toxins around just about every corner. You may not even realize the impact that toxins in your environment, cleaning products and personal care products are having on your health and your ability to lose weight or stay healthy!
What IS Nutritional Therapy?
As a Nutritional Therapist, I work on the belief and knowledge that health is built on specific body foundations. The principal that a properly prepared, nutrient-dense diet of whole foods, provides the ultimate foundation leading to optimal health.
In layman’s words, please….
In essence, I believe every individual is a “bio-individual”. Working off of your personal nutritional questionnaire, food journals and interviews, helps me pinpoint and chart a course of action that is tailored specifically to your needs. Through diet and possible supplementation, we work together in bringing your body and health back into balance.
One size does not fit all, and though diet is KEY to getting healthy, there are many variables that come into play.
What would your nutritional questionnaire say about your health?
